The new scheme by Vodafone is offering the student-base of India
To counter the schemes of Reliance Jio, Vodafone has brought in a new scheme which would offer 1 GB 3G/4G data every day for 84 days
Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio has set so many benchmarks for the entire telecom sector of India, that every other operator is making efforts to counter its effects. While Idea is launching its own phone to counter JioPhone, now Vodafone has announced a new data scheme to compete with the Jio Plans. Vodafone is now targeting the students’ base and offering a new plan that will offer unlimited calls with 1 GB 3G/4G data every day for 84 days, said one company official, according to The Indian Express.
As far as Reliance Jio is concerned, they are currently offering similar benefits for Rs 399 along with free roaming and unlimited SMS.
This new tariff plan by Vodafone dubbed ‘Vodafone Campus Survival Kit’ for students will be rolled out in Delhi-NCR for now and will be rolled out to other regions across the country gradually. The scheme will only be applicable for the new connections and will cost Rs 445. It will offer students unlimited voice calls, 1GB per day of 3G or 4G data for 84 days, discount coupons and a messenger bag free as part of the offer. Subsequent recharges will be for Rs 352 that will give the above-mentioned benefits.
“The survival kit is for Rs 445, it includes discount booklet from Ola, Zomato and others, valid for 84 days, post the expiration, 352 recharge will give them same benefits,” Vodafone India Delhi circle business head Alok Verma said to The Indian Express via mail.
“This plan will be rolled out across India. However, the recharge value may differ from circle to circle,” Vodafone India National Head for consumer marketing, Arvind Nevatia said.
