Reliance-launched JioPhone’s pre-booking will start from this month and the phone will be launched for the masses in September
August is here and pre-booking of JioPhones are on the top of the priority list for many. The feature phone by Reliance will begin its beta trial from the middle of this month and will only be available for a small section of the customers. For now, a lot of people, who want to get their hands on this Rs Zero worth feature phone will be left high and dry this month. The device will be launched for the masses in September for both individuals and enterprise users. If you don’t want to lose on the opportunity of pre-booking this month here is some useful information for you.
You can get your devices following the September mass launch only if you pre-book it now. The pre-booking will kick-start from August 24, both online and offline just like what happened during the launch of Jio network. Mukesh Ambani had started the pre-booking few months ahead of the launch in September 2016.
To book your Jio Phone online, you can check the MyJio app on August 24. Until then, you can sign up for the updates on the Jio.com website by clicking on Keep Me Posted option. All you have to do is file in the required details.
If you are a business owner and need the JioPhone for business purposes you will need to provide your company’s PAN or GSTN number during the registration process. You can then specify how many units of the phone you want to purchase, with the highest tier being ’50 & Above’ for bulk orders. Once you register the details, you will receive all the details and latest updates regarding JioPhone launch on your mobile phone via SMS, and also on your given email id.
You can also opt for the offline JioPhone pre-booking process, which is quite simple. You just have to head to an offline Jio retailer on August 24.
The company says that it will deliver the 4G feature phone on a first come, first serve basis, which means people will get the phones on the basis of who registered before the other. Reliance Jio aims to deliver 5 million units each week. More details will surely arrive as the release date nears.
Jio Phone is technically free, according to Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. However, it requires you to make an upfront security deposit of Rs. 1,500, which is refundable after three years. Regarding the Rs. 1,500 security deposit, Ambani had said at the AGM, “The security deposit is necessary to avoid any potential misuse of data.”
