All aspiring footballers have finally got something to be excited about – Perfect Play, an app which can aid footballers in improving their abilities and become professionals at what they like to do most – playing soccer.
Perfect Play has been developed by FC Chelsea and Coach-AI, Mati Kochavi’s company, with the aim of providing an advanced virtual soccer coaching, not only to children but everyone else who feels they need more training.
The app is your personal trainer; the fusion of augmented-reality technology, computer vision, and the most sophisticated soccer training methods from Chelsea FC Academy can help you sharpen your soccer skills in real time. When you download the app, you’re able to do training in front of your smartphone camera and receive feedback on your performance and personalized development plans. The app offers masterclass content that was created by the same coaches that trained some of the best Chelsea players, such as Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Reece James.
As you train in front of the camera, the tracking technology analyses your performance and designs the best skill-improving plan. This personalized plan will help you develop a set of various skills including soccer intelligence and mental dexterity, and also improve your physique. The app helps develop agility, dribbling, focus, ball mastery, passing, speed, receiving, shooting, resilience, strength, and plenty of other skills.
What many of you may be concerned about are its safety and privacy. The designers of the app used the most advanced security protocols to protect its users’ personal data and maximize their privacy to the best available standard.
For Mason Mount, Chelsea FC’s midfielder and the graduate at the club’s Academy, the app’s training program was an amazing tool as it gave him the core skills, both on a physical and mental level, that are needed to hit professional levels. Speaking to the Chelsea FC blog, Mount did not hide his satisfaction with the fact that many young soccer players can train with the help of Perfect Play. For him, the technology is “unbelievable”.
Similar sentiment was echoed by Chelsea and US national team midfielder, Christian Pulisic. For him, Perfect Play is “unique”, as it allows children everywhere access to coaching at a professional level.
Tammy Abraham, an Academy graduate and Chelsea striker, says the main things he was taught at the Chelsea Academy was patience, hard work, as well as how to remain calm and focused. He stresses that these are all the things that the app can teach young and aspiring soccer players as well, making the app “incredible”. He further added he was a “big fan” of Perfect Play and expressed his sadness that there were no such solutions when he was younger.
The app’s product owner, Steve Didd, emphasized collaboration and teamwork, as key ingredients to both a successful team – and a successful app. By working with multiple different organizations, including key partners Coach-AI, Didd and the team were able to develop computer vision tech that’s pivotal to Perfect Play.
Perfect Play gives cost-free training with restricted access to training games.
On the other hand, you can sign up for Perfect Play Premium, which is priced at $14.99 per month, and obtain all the masterclass content and full program to empower its users to make a specific plan of training to meet each user’s individual needs.
Currently, this app is available only on iOS, while an Android version will be launched soon.
